CPR Masks and CPR Face Shields, along with gloves, are key in personal protective equipment in medical emergencies. It is important to insist on quality when choosing your equipment as inferior equipment means inferior protection.
Years of experience and dedication in helping rescue professionals have made RONDEX a leader. We have developed CPR Masks which have many innovative features, patented and patent pending, to increase operator protection while performing CPR.
Rondex had its beginnings in 1978 with the introduction of a Mouth-to-Mask device for ventilations during CPR. It occurred to them in those early years that direct mouth contact with a patient can be very daunting because of the possibility of vomiting during CPR. CPR Masks, not only protect the provider, but the patient as well. Having personal protective equipment also encourages bystanders to step in and help.
During the 1980's, more concern about doing direct Mouth-to-Mouth ventilations arose. The United States Center for Disease Control, CDC, considers blood, saliva or any body fluid or secretion as potentially infectious. Many people trained to do CPR have reservations about having direct mouth contact with a stranger. It is crucial to always carry a CPR mask or CPR face shield.
The U.S. Department of Labor (OSHA) passed a law on December 6, 1991 which requires employers to furnish CPR masks and gloves to those employees trained in CPR.
The vision Rondex had nearly 20 years ago of CPR Masks used to avoid direct mouth contact during CPR is now widely accepted and under some circumstances, required by law. Please read below for more information on any of our CPR Face Masks or CPR Pocket Masks.
